Verification statuses

The ID document verification lifecycle is really simple and consists of the following stages:

Status	Description	Recommended action
`pending`	The identity document verification has been initiated.	Wait for the `status` to change.
`inconclusive`	The verification could not be completed (e.g., the file was too small or the image was too blurry). For more details, refer to the status codes section below.	Request a new file from your user, then initiate a new identity document verification.
`verified`	The identity document has been successfully verified.	Proceed with accepting the request that required an identity document verification.
`failed`	The identity document verification failed due to certain issues. For more details, refer to the status codes section below.	Reject the request that required an identity document verification. If needed, initiate a new identity document verification.

Status codes

If the verification is inconclusive or failed, the status codes can help diagnose the issue. A verification may include multiple codes.

STATUS: inconclusive

Unlike failed or verified statuses, an inconclusive verification does not incur a charge to the client.

Code	Type	Description
IDDV_1103	File issue	The file is unreadable or cannot be processed (e.g., unsupported file type or format).
IDDV_1104	File issue	The image width or height is too small (min WxH=320x256).
IDDV_1105	File issue	The image resolution is too big (max = 20 millions px).
IDDV_1106	File issue	The file size is too large (max = 20 MB).
IDDV_1107	File issue	The file contains too many pages.
IDDV_1200	Image issue	The image is too blurry.
IDDV_1201	Image issue	The image lacks sufficient contrast.
IDDV_1202	Image issue	No text was detected in the image.
IDDV_1203	Image issue	The resolution is too low (character height in pixels is insufficient for proper recognition).
IDDV_1204	Image issue	Images in binary format are not supported
IDDV_1205	Image issue	The MRZ couldn’t be read correctly (e.g., unreadable characters caused by a flash glare).
IDDV_1206	Image issue	The MRZ couldn’t be fully read (e.g., it was truncated).
IDDV_1207	Image issue	The MRZ couldn’t be found on the document.
IDDV_1208	Image issue	The image is improperly framed.
IDDV_1408	Image issue	The image does not match the ID document type requested (this control is only applied if you have specified a document type when initiating a new ID document verification).

IDDV_1501	Document issue	The ID document type was not recognized.
IDDV_1502	Document issue	The document is expired. Note: The 15-year legal validity extension for French identity cards has been taken into account.
IDDV_1505	Document issue	The VIZ (Visual Inspection Zone) extracted from the document is incorrect.
IDDV_1506	Document issue	The front side of the ID document was not found.
IDDV_1507	Document issue	The back side of the ID document was not found.
IDDV_1508	Document issue	The image quality is insufficient.
IDDV_1509	Document issue	The birth name was not found in the document.
IDDV_1510	Document issue	The first names were not found in the document.
IDDV_1511	Document issue	The last name was not found in the document.
IDDV_1512	Document issue	The birth date was not found in the document.
IDDV_1513	Document issue	The issuance date was not found in the document.
IDDV_1514	Document issue	The expiration date was not found in the document.
IDDV_1515	Document issue	The document number was not found in the document.
IDDV_1516	Document issue	The image doesn't match the ID document type.
IDDV_1601	Suspicious document	The PDF document contains annotations (malicious PDF annotations can be used to hide or modify document content in an invisible manner).
IDDV_1602	Suspicious document	The PDF document contains signs of tampering (PDF editors can leave invisible artifacts in modified PDF files).
IDDV_1603	Suspicious document	The format of the document number extracted from the document is incorrect.
IDDV_1604	Suspicious document	The format of the personal number (also known as "Codice Fiscale") extracted from the document is incorrect.
IDDV_1606 IDDV_1607	Suspicious document	The issuance and expiration dates are inconsistent with the expected validity period for the document model (based on its type, country, and year of issuance), or the current date. Note: The 15-year legal validity extension for French identity cards has been taken into account.
IDDV_1608	Suspicious document	The verification of the different security elements of the document (e.g., watermark) has failed.
IDDV_1609	Suspicious document	The identity photo was not found on the document.
IDDV_1610	Suspicious document	The birth name on the document is not consistent with the information extracted from the MRZ.
IDDV_1611	Suspicious document	The last name on the document is not consistent with the information extracted from the MRZ.
IDDV_1612	Suspicious document	The birth date on the document is not consistent with the information extracted from the MRZ.
IDDV_1613	Suspicious document	The first names on the document are not consistent with the information extracted from the MRZ.
IDDV_1614	Suspicious document	The document number on the document is not consistent with the information extracted from the MRZ.
IDDV_1615	Suspicious document	The expiration date on the document is not consistent with the information extracted from the MRZ.
IDDV_1616	Suspicious document	The issuance date is not consistent with the information extracted from the MRZ.
IDDV_1617	Suspicious document	The font used on the document doesn’t appear authentic.
IDDV_1618	Suspicious document	The document is recognized as a specimen.
IDDV_1619	Suspicious document	The format of the MRZ (Machine Readable Zone) extracted from the document is incorrect.
IDDV_1620	Suspicious document	The 2D-Doc on the ID document could not be validated or is invalid.
IDDV_1621	Suspicious document	The 2D-Doc content is not consistent with the information extracted from the ID document.
IDDV_1706	Consistency issue	The last name extracted from the document doesn’t match the declared information.
IDDV_1707	Consistency issue	The first name extracted from the document doesn’t match the declared information.
IDDV_1709	Consistency issue	The first name and last name extracted from the document don’t match the declared information and appear to be inverted.
IDDV_1711	Consistency issue	The document number extracted from the document is inconsistent with the declared information (based on declared first name and last name).
