Bank Account IBAN Verification now extends to Europe.
Bank Account IBAN Verification now relies on the VOP (Verification of Payee) scheme instead of SEPAmail. This change keeps the same flow while expanding coverage beyond France.
How it works?
Existing integrations continue to work without any change.
As before, you verify that an IBAN belongs to a given natural person, by sending the IBAN and the expected holder name, or by uploading a bank account details document for Youtrust to extract.
To initiate a verification, you will still use the same Bank Account IBAN Verification endpoint (see API reference), with the same request format.
What's new?
Coverage now includes 20 European countries, including traditional banks and some neobanks.
A verification is completed only if the bank that holds the IBAN is registered in the VOP scheme and is part of the supported coverage.
Please note that this feature currently supports individuals only. Verification for legal entities is not available yet.
